I decided to try mixing red clay and seamix. I found that it seemed easier for me to throw with it. I don't think I scraped off the excess as well as I should have so the mixed colors don't show up right now as well as I wish they had. This is on the cart now.

Our school is hosting an Empty Bowls fundraisers soon so the ceramics class is making soup bowls or mugs. This is going to be a soup mug.
I made two cups on the wheel and footed them the next day. Both are in a bag right now to keep it from drying out before I can make handles for them. On Monday (Nov. 28th), I will make handles for them and connect them. It'll stay in a bag for the next few days to dry out evenly.
I have one of the cups completely done, I have another on the bisque shelf which should come out about Wednesday, if it goes in. I have one more mug that does have a handle attached. But, the project isn't drying how it should so it's cracking. I'm trying to fix it, but it isn't working right now. If this one doesn't work, I believe I have another project I made that can probably work as a mug. One mug is finished, another is being glazed right now, and the last one is drying in my locker now. |
