Progress: September 13- The other tall project I made isn't as tall as I would like it to be so I decided to make another one. This one is a little taller than the last one I made, I also got a few more tips on making tall projects. One of the main things I need to work on, for all of my projects, is not spinning the wheel so fast. Today I made the project and trimmed the base. September 19- It's finished being fired and I will glaze it a little later, it's waiting in my locker right now.

Progress: September 12- We started planning the group coil. Originally, it was going to be a pencil holder but now we're turning it into a vase. We started to make it today. September 14- We continued working on it and finished it today. We wanted to add more to it but decided not to. All that's left is a few finishing touches which we will do tomorrow. September 15- We have a few more things to finish up tomorrow, such as making sure the spiral coils on top are connected right and then we will put it on the cart. Progress:
September 8- I made it today. It doesn't seem to be a very tall project so I am planning on making another one. I made it as a vase, but not a very wide or tall one. That's part of the reason I am planning on making another one that is taller. September 13- It's still sitting in my locker, I want it to dry a little more before I sandpaper it and put it on the cart to be fired. September 14- I started carving a little on it, I think I am going to make a flower design since it looks like a little vase. I'm hoping to finish that tomorrow. September 19- It's done being fired and I will glaze it later, right now it's in my locker. I plan on glazing around the flowers, like drawing them in the glaze, and then putting a clear over it. Progress:
September 7- I made another bowl today. Originally I was going to make it a plate but it seems to be one of the wider bowls I have made so I decided to keep it. I want to make larger and nicer looking bowls. I'm still debating whether I will keep it or not. I think I will since it'll be good practice for glazing as well as throwing, it'll show how much I have improved from start to finish. September 8- I wanted to foot today but it's still too wet, I'm hoping to foot tomorrow. If not, I will put a bag on it and do it Monday. September 13- I was able to foot it today and will sandpaper hopefully tomorrow. I will then put it on the cart to be fired. September 15- I sandpapered today and put it on the shelf to be fired. September 19- It is finished being fired and just needs to be glazed. Progress:
September 7- I made the bowl and am hoping to foot it tomorrow. As of right now, it's sitting in my locker drying a little more. It's fairly small sized bowl, I am considering turning it into a small tea cup but I'm not sure. I think I will keep it as a small bowl. September 8- It's still too wet to foot, I might be able to but I don't want to throw it off-center by footing it. September 13- It has been footed and hopefully can be sandpapered tomorrow. After that, I will put it on the shelf to be fired. September 15- I sandpapered the bowl and put it on the shelf to be fired. September 19- It has been fired and will be glazed a little later. It is sitting in my locker. Progress: September 7: I made the bowl today and am hoping to foot it tomorrow. It is waiting in my locker without a bag on it so it'll dry more over night. September 8- The bowl was still too wet and I didn't want to risk throwing it off-center. September 9- I footed it today and then put it on the shelf to be fired. September 12- I checked and it looks like it went in, it should be out in a few days. September 14- The bowl is sitting in my locker now after being fired, I am hoping to glaze it tomorrow. September 15- For glazing, I decided to try Raku. Progress:
DATE> October 4- Made the lid today October 5 - Made a handle for the lid today Progress: September 6: I made the bowl today and will try footing it tomorrow. Right now it is just sitting in my locker without a bag on it. September 7- I footed the bowl but need to sand paper it since I didn't get all of the clay holding it in place off. September 8- I sand papered it today. Now, I just need to measure and take pictures for the blog, I meant to take pictures throughout the progress but don't have storage on my phone right now. I will try again on my next few projects. After that, I will put it on the shelf to be fired. September 9- It's on the shelf waiting to be fired. September 12- I checked today and it looks like it was about to be fired, it should be out in a few days. September 14- The bowl is finished being fired and is sitting in my locker, I am planning on glazing it tomorrow. September 15- I decided to try Raku for glazing. Progress: September 1- I made another bowl that will be my second bowl, it is a little more rounded than the first. But, I still want to work on that. September 2- The bowl was too wet to foot so it is sitting in my locker in a bag. I plan to open the bag after the weekend and foot the next day or take it out of the bag completely depending . September 6- Today I was able to foot today. It is sitting in my locker to dry a little more. I plan on sandpapering the sides a little where there is still some clay that held it still while footing. September 9- It's on the shelf waiting to be fired. September 12- I checked and it looks like it went in, it should be out in a few days. September 14- The bowl is out now and is sitting in my locker, I am hoping to glaze tomorrow. September 15- I decided to Raku it and so I glazed it with those colors. Progress: September 1- I made the bowl but I need to work on making a more rounded shape with my bowls. September 2- The bowl was too wet to be footed so it is sitting in a bag in my locker. I will open the bag and let it sit over night and then, depending on how wet it is, the next day I'll either foot or take it out of the bag completely. September 6- I footed the bowl today. It's sitting in my locker drying a little more. I'm going to sandpaper it since I didn't get all of the clay I used to hold it in place for footing off. September 9- The bowl is sitting on the shelf waiting to be fired. September 12- I think it is now in and just needs to be fired. It should be out in a few days. September 14- The bowl is out now and is sitting in my locker, I plan to glaze it tomorrow. September 15- I decided to try Raku and that's how I glazed it. |
