This is the vase I made with seamix and red clay. I used one of the tools to add lines to the project. Tomorrow, I'll try to get more of the colors to show up. I think I need to use less red clay, usually I use an equal amount. I glazed it with clear and put it on the shelf to fire again.

This is my lidded project. I'm not sure what kind of design I am going to do yet, I might try to do something with red and porcelain slip. This is going to be the lid, I'm not sure what kind of handle I am going to do yet. I made a braid for the handle, it might be too heavy though. I attached it and hopefully it'll work! I left it in a bag for a while and now it is in an open bag. This is my multi-wheel tall. It is three pieces out of vashon white with red and porcelain slip on top. The top part and inside will be glazed black. The project itself is a little off-center on top and more of the shape is at the top. I am going to work on trying to add more shape to my projects. This project cracked a little bit with the way the slip was layered. I glazed the top part, a ring around the bottom, and inside black. The middle part with the slip is glazed with clear. It was supposed to be a bowl but turned into a vase. It got really thin in the middle of the top section, this was my third attempt at making something like this today. I was advised to try pulling up the clay in sections. I am beginning to be able to throw taller projects, I need to work on controlling the clay and make sure it stays on center. It will also help to have the clay be uniform thickness, that is something I need to work on as well. I will try to foot it tomorrow. But, I am still debating whether I am going to keep it. It almost like it would collapse. When I was looking at it in the picture, or in the cabinet, it seemed more off-center than it did when I was throwing. I might keep it for a glaze test, or as a practice though. I decided to try some glazes that I don't usually use together. I covered the whole project with shadow green and put metallic brown on the top part. The entire project has white on it. Our first assignment was to throw three bowls. I will foot these bowls tomorrow. Two of them are actually fairly thin which I didn't intend to happen. I haven't thrown bowls in a while and want to do more of that.
Just a divider between the semesters. Projects above this are all from 2nd semester. Projects below are all from 1st semester.
I used red clay and seamix to make a mug, I'm really excited about it and hope it turns out looking really nice. I also pulled the handle today so hopefully I'll be able to foot real quick tomorrow and then attack the handle. I'm not sure if I can put it on the cart to be fired tomorrow or not though.
Using red clay and seamix, I throw a bowl. I used a blue rib tool to scrap off the excess to show more colors. I will foot it tomorrow and put it on the shelf then.
