This is our frankenpot, which is multiple wheel-thrown pieces put together. We decided not to add anything else to it and kept it simple. I made the base, Kailey made the middle part, and Emma made the top. I connected all of the pieces. Once it was fired, Emma glazed it with Sydney blue.

This bowl is made out of mixer clay and glazed with shadow green. I really like the color of it. The holes around the lip can be used to hang earrings while the inside can hold bracelets and rings. I am considering making another that is bigger. This one was more of a tester. It does not have a foot ring because it was too dry to foot. If I were to try and make another one, I might make it taller and thicker to have multiple shelves for earrings. The only problem is it feels like the inside would be wasted space. If it was similar to a vase, it could be used to hold flowers or something similar and still hold earrings. The only reason I would be a little hesitate about putting necklaces in the bowl is because they might get tangled. It could hold other things though, it could hold spare change. What they use it for is more personal preference, but the holes around the top are designed for holding earrings. It is based off of a type of project I saw online when looking for ceramics inspiration/interests. This is the second plate I made for quarter 1. Like the first plate, it is made out of porcelain. I glazed it with black, white, blue, and Italian straw. I wanted to make it look like a galaxy or the stars. I think around the edges it got that start effect, but otherwise it didn't turn out completely how I wanted. I think there was too much blue and not enough black, it might help to have a few other colors with it. I tried to make this plate a little flatter and have more of a rim. This plate does not have a foot, it is just cleaned up and sandpapered on the bottom. |
