This is a vashon white bowl I threw today. The lip was getting a little thin though so I'm not sure if I'll keep it.

This is our group frankenpot, I am in a group with Katie and Kendra. Kendra made the top, Katie made the middle, and I made the bottom as well as attached the pieces.
This vase is inspired by the teardrop style, which is a round vase with a thin, cylinder shaped neck. I still haven't made it look exactly how I wanted too, but I am really expected about this one. I wasn't able to make the neck/lip how I wanted from the original piece of clay I had so I made this one into a frankenpot. It's just two pieces because I wanted the top part but couldn't make it with the clay I had before. I was able to foot it and now it is drying. I am considering glazing it with shadow green and then dark cobalt on the top half so hopefully it'll mix. I've seen some projects that I think have done that and I love the results. I want to do my own tester first though. I might leave the inside white, I usually glaze the insides black but I think a lighter color would be nice. This is a large bowl I made out of Seamix on Thursday. I wasn't able to foot it on Friday so it is in a bag. I'm really excited to see how this one turns out! Hopefully I'll be able to center it when I foot it. I think it was centered when I made it. I also think it's one of the nicest bowls I've made so far this semester. I decided to try making a mug in cone 10. I love the glaze colors. I am also getting better at throwing with cone 10 and am finding it easier. I am planning to foot the project tomorrow as well as making a handle. I wasn't able to foot the project today (March 22), but I did make a handle. Hopefully, I'll be able to foot the project and attach the handle tomorrow. |
